About Cold Water Swimming
Cold water swimming is the term given to submerging your body in water that has a temperature of less than 18 degrees Celsius (64 F). The winter months in Montenegro generally see the water temperature ranging from 12.6-15.1 degrees with an average around 14 degrees. However, there have been many occasions when we have measured the temperature in late February at 10 degrees, so considerably lower than the published temperature. This is the joy of becoming a cold water warrior - you never know exactly what the conditions will be until the day! Will it be cold? Yes. Will it be windy? Maybe. Will it be challenging? Most likely. Fun? Absolutely!

As you enter the water you may experience some level of anxiety. This is normal as your body is experiencing a level of shock. We will address this in our meditation session to give you strategies and tools to help with the process. You may choose to simply dip in the water, or you may wish to swim. This is your unique experience and whilst we encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone, we want you to feel safe and supported in the process. This is about gradually building your inner-warrior, not throwing you in the deep end and telling you not to drown.

Our Cold Water Warrior Itinerary...
I will guide you through breathing and thought meditation exercises to help you prepare for the upcoming extremities. We will then wander along the boardwalk to the seaside where we will submerge ourselves into the invigorating water.
Safety is foremost, and each physical body is different, we therefore assess the length of time spent in the water according to each individual. My aim is for each person to receive maximum benefit and to feel empowered, exhilarated, and revived. Once we have reached our limit, we will raise our core temperature by relaxing in the wellness centre.

Be guided by our experienced
cold water warrior
Susan found a love for cold water swimming back in 2016 after she found peace in the open water. Along with her faithful tribe, Susan swam at sunrise each morning. During her first winter she wore a wetsuit, but the following year she trained her body and her mind to acclimatise to the cold water temperatures. In Melbourne, the sea temperature gets as low as 8 degrees.
Susan has experienced all the elements that go hand in hand with these conditions including brain freeze, burning skin, loss of breath, and a frozen jaw. She has also experienced the exhilaration and feelings of joy as her body bursts with endorphins. Susan will guide you in a safe and supported manner to get the most out of your cold water warrior experience.
