WHAT DISTANCE WILL WE SWIM EACH DAY?Most days we will swim between 4-6 kilometers divided across a morning and afternoon swim.

MUST I PARTICIPATE IN ALL SWIMS?No. This is your holiday, so you may choose how much or little you swim.

MUST I BE AN EXPERIENCED OPEN WATER SWIMMER?To get the most out of our tours, we recommend having an intermediate level of experience swimming in open water. We will however have a support boat, so if you feel you have reached your limit, you are welcome to climb on board and enjoy the rest of the day's tour from the boat.

DO I NEED TO TRAIN FOR THE TOUR?We recommend you swim a minimum of one kilometer several times a week in the weeks/months leading up to the tour to ensure your muscles are well prepared. Most swimmers choose to swim the freestyle stroke, however you are welcome to swim the stroke most comfortable for you.

WILL WE HAVE TIME FOR SIGHTSEEING?Yes, although the priority of the tour is to enjoy the stunning swimming spots around Montenegro, we will have the opportunity to roam the cobblestone streets of Old Town Kotor, admire the mega yachts around Porto Montenegro, and explore the picturesque town of Perast. Please review the tour itinerary for further details.

CAN NON-SWIMMERS ATTEND THE TOUR?Yes! Non-swimmers are welcome to join the tour. We may even be able to provide you with a kayak or SUP board if you wish to participate on the water. Please discuss this with us prior to confirming your booking. Alternatively, non-swimmers may wish to explore Montenegro by foot (please note, any activities not associated with the swimming tour will be at your own expense).

ARE SIGHTSEEING EXCURSIONS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?No. Any additional sightseeing is at your own expense.

WHAT MEALS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?This depends on the tour you choose. Please refer to each individual tour inclusions/exclusions. Note: meals during sightseeing excursions are not included. Room service and mini-bar are not included in the price. Additional meals not specified in inclusions are not included.

IS ALCOHOL INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?Alcohol is not included in the tour price. Consumption of alcohol (including hotel room mini-bar) is at your own expense.

IS THE POOL AND SPA AREA OF THE RESORT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?Yes. The pool and spa area including steam room, Hammam chamber and jacuzzi are available for use by guests. Additional services such as massage are not included in the tour price.

IS THERE AN AGE RESTRICTION?Swimmers must be 18 years of age or older to attend our tours. However, we also welcome swimmers 16-17 years of age if accompanied by an adult.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?Yes. Please ensure you have travel insurance in place. Insurance must cover all activities you will undertake during the tour, so please ensure open water swimming is specified. We will require your travel insurance details prior to commencement.

WILL THE TOUR DEFINITELY GO AHEAD?We require a minimum number of guests for the tour to operate. Please do not book flights until you receive confirmation that the tour will proceed. Please ensure you have travel insurance.

WILL I RECEIVE A REFUND OF THE DEPOSIT IF I CANCEL MY BOOKING?No. Deposits are non-refundable, so please ensure your availability to attend the tour prior to booking.

WILL I RECEIVE A REFUND OF THE DEPOSIT IF OCEAN BLUE SWIMMING TOURS CANCELS THE TOUR?Yes. If OBST cancels a tour, your deposit will be refunded into your nominated bank account.

CAN I WEAR A WETSUIT?Sure. You are welcome to wear either a bathing suit or wetsuit - whatever suits you best.

CAN I USE SWIMMING AIDS?Safety is our main priority, so a tow float is highly recommended to assist with visibility. You are welcome to use other aids as you wish, such as fins or paddles.

WILL THERE BE WATER SUPPORT?Yes, swimmers will be divided into groups depending on their speed, and each group will be supported by a paddler. Many of our swim locations are only accessible by water, so we will also engage boat support for the majority of the tour.

ARE THERE ANY DANGERS IN THE WATER?Thankfully, sharks don’t roam the waters of Montenegro, so you can enjoy the swim without the fear of something chomping at your toes. We are swimming in a natural environment however, so we can’t escape all the elements. On occasion you may encounter a jellyfish or sea urchin. We highly encourage you to observe the sea floor as you enter and exit the water. On a really positive note, we may also at times encounter dolphins or turtles within Boka Bay.

WHAT IS THE ALTERNATIVE IF WEATHER CONDITIONS DON’T PERMIT OPEN WATER SWIMMING?Unfortunately we can’t predict the weather, and at times the conditions don’t permit open water swimming. If this occurs during a tour, you will have the option to swim in the resort indoor pool. Use of the swimming pool is included in the tour cost. You may also wish to indulge in a massage or spa treatment. Spa treatments and/or any additional services will be at your own expense. While conditions may not be suitable for swimming, you may still explore the surrounding towns and villages and learn the rich history that Montenegro offers.
